About PolyPath.
Our intent is to create a space/experience for new and prospective students to freely explore buildings from the Cal Poly campus. We aim to alleviate some of the stress that these students may have by creating a fully 3D immersive environment that accurately depicts a building on campus and allows the user to get comfortable and familiar with the place ahead of time while also allowing them to freely explore and discover facts about the University.
We plan to implement a communication module where students and can interact in either real time or leave messages in virtual format. This piece would be revolutionary in the fact that one could make new friends and acquaintances before they even set foot on Cal Poly’s campus. In doing so would further alleviate anxiety of coming into a new and unfamiliar space.

Cal Poly! In VR!

We are creating a Virtual Reality experience of Cal Poly that can be used to alleviate the pain of being unfamiliar with the campus by immersing participants into 3D rendering of buildings on Cal Poly’s campus. For example, a student can quickly navigate to the classroom they need to find on the first day or if the student is entirely new to the campus. In addition, a parent of an incoming student can understand and see what the student is experiencing by seeing where the learning takes place.
